TabStash — Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 August 2026
These terms cover TabStash, a browser extension published by Atlanticscape. Installing or using it means you accept them. They are deliberately short: TabStash has no account, holds none of your data, and works without payment, so most of what such a document usually governs does not exist here.
What you are getting
A licence to install and use TabStash on your own devices, for personal or commercial purposes. The licence is non-exclusive and non-transferable, and it lasts as long as you keep the extension installed.
Free, permanently: saving tabs, restoring them, the list and board views, search, tags, stars, notes, trash, undo, and backup and restore. This is the whole of what TabStash is for, and none of it is ever going behind a payment.
Pro adds the Home page and the Map view. New installs include a 14-day trial of both, which starts on its own and needs nothing from you. When it ends, everything above keeps working exactly as it did.
A Pro key is verified on your own computer and is not checked against any server, so it keeps working offline and we cannot switch it off remotely. It is issued to one person for their own use across their own machines; publishing a key, or issuing one to others, is not that.
Data safety is never behind a payment. Export, import, trash, undo and restoring a version stay free for everyone, including anyone whose licence has lapsed. Your own data is never held to a renewal.
What you may not do
- Redistribute TabStash, or sell it, as if it were yours.
- Decompile or modify it and then publish the result under a name likely to be confused with this one.
- Use it to break the law, or to breach the terms of any site you visit.
Nothing here restricts rights you have under the licences of the open-source components TabStash is built from, or under any law that cannot be contracted away.
Your data and your backups
TabStash stores everything locally on your machine and transmits nothing. What that means in detail is in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Two consequences follow, and they are yours to manage rather than ours:
- We hold no copy of your data. If your profile is lost, your machine fails, or you uninstall the extension, we cannot recover anything for you, because there has never been anything to recover from. Export a backup if the contents matter to you.
- An exported backup is an unencrypted file. Once it leaves the extension it is an ordinary file on your computer, and keeping it safe is your responsibility.
No warranty
TabStash is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
It is a tool that closes and reopens browser tabs, and it is built carefully: deletions are reversible from the trash, actions can be undone, and it takes daily local snapshots. None of that is a guarantee. Browsers change, bugs happen, and disks fail. Do not use TabStash as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Atlanticscape is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits, or time, arising out of your use of or inability to use TabStash.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for TabStash in the twelve months before the claim — which, for the free version, is nothing.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusions above. Where that is so, they apply only to the extent permitted, and this does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Availability and changes
TabStash is offered as-is and may be changed, updated, or withdrawn at any time. Updates are delivered through the Chrome Web Store on Google's schedule, not ours.
Pro keys are sold through Atlanticscape. Price, payment, renewal and refunds are set out at the point of purchase, and those terms apply to the sale alongside this document. Nothing here obliges you to buy anything: TabStash is fully usable without a key, forever.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Continuing to use TabStash after that means accepting the revised terms; if you do not, uninstalling it ends the licence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Atlanticscape is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country of residence.
